Meet Ashley! Ashley is a 6 month old golden retriever who did not have the best start. She found her way to a rescue back in late October and was being fostered by one of our founders. She has recently been transferred to our non profit to continue getting the care and medical treatment she needs. We are grateful to have the opportunity to find the home that she deserves and we know is best for her. However, the medical care she requires will impose a significant financial burden on our newly founded rescue. While we are not accepting applications on her just yet we do want to start sharing her story and reaching our goal of about $2k for her needed surgery while continuing to help save dogs in need. Ashley is a prime example of what happens when individuals purchase a dog without doing the proper research. Ashley is a product of a mass production mill who easily gave her up when they realized she would not bring any profit in. She unfortunately has an ectopic ureter. In dogs, an ectopic ureter is a birth defect where the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder doesn't attach properly, leading to urinary incontinence and potential urinary tract issues. Thankfully there is a surgery to help correct this which is scheduled for as soon as possible. We can not wait for her to continue living the happiest life that she deserves!
